MONTEREY, California — Chevrolet Racing teased the new 2014 Corvette C7.R racecar over the weekend at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The successor to the Corvette C6.R makes its motorsports debut next January at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and is expected to compete at Le Mans and other endurance events next year.
The C7.R made its first public appearance at the Laguna Seca racetrack on Saturday, heavily camouflaged in a black and white checkerboard pattern. Factory driver Tommy Milner was at the wheel.
The racing version of the redesigned 2014 Corvette was decked out with a massive rear wing and a deep front dam with several air intakes. Hot air also exits through huge intake slots behind the front wheels.
Corvette was the featured marque this year at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
Edmunds says: A stunner, like its production sibling.
